Tuesday Ten

Here is my Tuesday Ten! I so love these!
1. What was/is your favorite live action (meaning not animated) kids movie?
Labyrinth....you know the one with David Bowie and all of the Jim Henson puppets?? I LOVE that movie!
2. What is a bad habit you have? Are you working on breaking it?I bite my nails and tear apart my cuticles....my fingers are constantly sore and I have no idea how to break the habit! Suck.
3. Describe your father in 3 words.
grumpy, weathered, hero
4. Which character in the Breakfast Club were you most like in the ’80s?
I was kind a combo of all of them....I was not really an outcast, jock, or a princess...I was definitely not a nerd or a rebel. I was a little of all of them! I was a class clown and didn't really fit into any one particular click. I hung out with everyone really.
5. Name 5 songs you know ALL the lyrics to.
Lucky-Seven Mary Three
Mrs. Robinson-Lemonheads
Small Town Kid-Eli Young Band
Angel Flying Too Close To the Ground-Willie Nelson
Crash-DMB
6. Do you make pancakes from scratch or a box mix?
Mix...its soo much easier!
7. What was your worst job ever? Why?
My small stint as a sales associate at Dillards....I used to take naps in the dressing room because I was sooo hungover! My roommate worked downstairs and we would find ANY reason to "visit" each others department! There was a sale quota, which I NEVER met, and if you didn't meet it you were fired....I never met mine. Not even close. And I had to wear hose every day to work. Bleh.
8. What was your favorite class in high school?photojournalism.....I loved to be in the darkroom. Many a conversations happened in the darkroom!
9. Favorite summer guilty pleasure?
Beers at the pool/lake. Its my favorite. Having a beer in the middle of the day while the kids entertain themselves is priceless!
10. Please share your best money saving tip!
I only WISH I could save money. Thrifty isn't even in my vocabulary!

She found it....

.....her laugh. Aubry finally cracked up!  I love little baby laughs and this morning she let loose! And I love it!! She has been grinning and it was just a matter of time before she just let a giggle out...and boy did she ever! I think it is my favorite milestone....when babies laugh!

My mind is racing about the 4th. I don't have any plans....its my favorite holiday and I just can't see us sitting here doing nothing all weekend! We could go to Lubbock, Monahans, or Little Elm....oh what to do.  I guess plans will be made at the last minute like we always do!

Tuesday Ten

Don't expect this EVER....2 posts in one day!!

1. If you could trade lives with another blogger for a day, who would it be and why?Pioneer Woman...for obvious reasons.
2. Do you prefer receiving handmade or store bought gifts? Be honest!
I love to get store bought gifts....especially from people who REALLY know me and REALLY know what I like! :)
3. Would you rather camp or stay in a hotel?
HOTEL...I hate to camp. I like to shower too much and my kids are at the age that camping...in a tent...would not be fun! Now when they get older then of course...just not now.
4. What’s your favorite comfort food?
My mom's steak fingers, macaroni and tomatoes, cheese salad and gravy.
5. You’re having a really bad day at work. How do you unwind when you come home?
I never get to "leave" work...but after a long day I like to unwind with a beer or glass of wine and a much needed cigarette.
6. What’s your favorite chore? (Or, the chore you hate the least)
Vacuuming...because by the time I do it I have been looking at the damn dust bunnies long enough to make me crazy and it feels good to FINALLY get rid of them!
7. What got you interested in blogging?
I wanted to document our lives so that my kids can look back some day and know what we did and just how I felt about our life!
8. Are you currently reading a book? What is it?
Haha...."My life outside the ring" by Hulk Hogan.  I have wanted to read this for so ling and finally broke down and am reading it.  It was part of growing up to enjoy watching wrestling and I still watch it from time to time...but Hulk Hogan was an icon during my childhood.
9. Do you have a favorite artist?
No.
10. Have you ever met someone famous?
Nope....unfortunately NEVER.

A fantastic website!

About a month ago I started Matt and I on a "health kick" I guess you could call it! We decided to turn over a new leaf....instead of dieting we decided to eat healthy. I think when you label it a diet it takes on a new meaning...when I hear diet I think of "restrictions" and if you know me very well....I don't like to be told what I can and cant have! haha! So in my search to eat healthy I happened on this site. I LOVE it! I go to it and bookmark recipes so when I make my grocery list I can refer back to the recipes! EVERYTHING I have made so far has been fantastic!! I love love this site....and I can definitely tell a difference in how I feel...and my appetite has changed as well. I leave every meal feeling satisfied with not much snacking in between! So NOW...I have no excuses not to loose all this weight that I have been carrying around with me for the past 8 years.  I never officially lost it when I had Ty....because why should I? I was going to have more babies and wasn't going to go on the weight roller coaster I so dreaded. I have been fat and happy and maintained the weight I have been with all 3 pregnancies.  I have not gained weight each time I have, instead, lost weight with each pregnancy! Thank goodness! ha! So now that I am officially done having kids I am ready to focus on loosing the weight! I'm ready!

So now that I have the eating thing down I have to start a workout regimen.

I am having a hard time finding the time to do it....Early in the morning doesn't work for me because I am the one that puts the baby to bed. And sometimes that bedtime is at midnight and sometimes it is 9:30 (trust me I am working on getting her on a schedule but it just isn't working out for me!) and with getting up once sometimes 2 times a night....I am sooo exhausted in the mornings I can just barely peel myself out of bed some mornings! Night time doesn't do it for me either because, again, I am exhausted from the day and taking care of 3 kids I don't want to even think about working out! Mid day is out because I don't want to workout in the 100 degree heat.  So there....there are my excuses! I guess I'm going to have to suck it up and do it! I know! I now! Once I get going it will be so much easier and i will have so much more energy....I guess I will just have to muster some of that energy from the depths of my toenails....some how and just do it! Crap.

4.  My next purchases are as follows:

  • dining room table
  • bed for Raegan
  • Bumbo seat for Aubry
5.  Summer is flying by so fast!

6.  I need a tan for a wedding on my birthday so I bought a FANTASTIC swimsuit to tan in and am ready! I just dont have the patience to sit out in the sun!

9.  It seems like everyone I know is having a baby lately! Its nuts! At least a dozen of my friends on facebook are pregnant or just had a baby! But whats funny is they are mostly my same age and it is their first baby....and I just had my third! I feel like I am going at it much too fast....in more ways than one! haha!

Ten on Tuesday

Here is this weeks Tuesday Ten! Some very random questions but its ok...I steal them from this blog....

1. What would the title of your autobiography be?

Better known as Jules.....I don't know why but it sound catchy!
2. What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever heard a child say or seen him/her do?
I have sooo many but my favorite is this.....
Tyler insisted he put on his new roller blades that he got for Christmas. He was only 5 and had noooo business skating in the house but rather than fight the battle I let him.  Well he was in the kitchen rolling around and I heard him fall. He says, "MAN....I need one of those life alerts if I'm gonna be skating".  I said, "WHAT?!? A Life Alert?" He responded with, "Yep a Life Alert....every human being should have one! And when I fall I can press it and someone will come help me!" He sounded just like the infomercial!! It was right at that moment that I figured out my son's gift for repeating, verbatim infomercials.
3. What is your favorite kids game to play?Memory  or Old Maid
4. If you got invited to a potluck BBQ tomorrow, what would you bring?
I just did this past weekend and I took Corn Casserole! It is FANTASTIC and goes all too well with some barbecue! Oh and anything with green chili's is something special as it is! ha!
5. If your ears are pierced, how old were you when you got your ears pierced?
I was like 6 or 7 i think. Don't get offended when I write this cause everyone is entitled to what ever he/she wants to do with their kids ears but.....I HATE it when I see baby's ears pierced. I think it looks ridiculous.
6. If you were celebrating your 30th anniversary, where would you want to go?
I would DIE to go to Bora Bora...you know the resort in Couple's Retreat? Here is a Picture... Oh we WILL go!! Ha!

7. What one blogger would you love to meet and why? And what would you want to plan to do with them?Pioneer Woman...I would want a copy of her recipes and to sit on her porch with a glass of tea and watch her husband (the Marlboro Man) work on their ranch.
8. On a scale from 1-10, how good at you at home decor? (Pictures welcome.)
I'd say and 8.  I get it from my Mom....thank goodness!
9. Do you have good fingernails?
Oh Lord NO! I bite them and peel cuticles until they are sore and bleeding!
10. Pickles: Dill or sweet? Baby, spears, or chips? Plain or on a burger?DILL! I despise sweet pickles! Spears....plain and chips on a burger.

Tuesday Ten

1. What does your car say about you? If you don’t have a car, what kind of car would be your daily driver?
I drive a Yukon and it SCREAMS soccer Mom (or in my case Baseball Mom). It is big and it accommodates my family of 5. It is a gas guzzler so when we are not ALL in tow I take the kids around town in my Ford Fusion. Which I love, and bought a year and a half before #3! And when I'm in it it says that I am sleek and a cool Mom....too cool for a Minivan!
2. To this point, what has been your purpose on this planet?
Up until this point I think I have many purposes on this planet...one of course being Mom, but I have only worn that "hat" for 7 years now, and I should say "to serve God (but I'm not...I'm taking this question in a different direction) . What I have spent even more years doing is being a good friend and bringing joy and good times to others.  I don't want to brag or get on my soap box, but this question requires honesty so here it is.....I have always been the fun friend..you know the one who knows how to have a good time (within good sense), always has a good story, can make ya laugh, and makes good memories with. I have made many relationships in various points in life and I have not one but 2 hands full of what I would call "best" friends. Some that I talk to daily, some I talk to weekly/monthly, and then the ones who I might not talk to for 6 months but we pick up just where we left off. I love my girls (and some guys) and love being the friend that you always have some funny/memorable story to tell about!
3. If you could trade places with any person for any amount of time, who would it be?
I would trade with Camila Alves...for obvious reasons.
4. What is your favorite kind of cake? If you don’t like cake, what is it about it that you don’t like?
Fresh Strawberry Cake that my mom makes me for my birthday....Holy Crap its fabulous!
5. Would you have wanted to live in your parents’, grandparents’ or great-grandparents’ generation or only your own?
I love my generation....I lived too young in the 80's to be a fashion nightmare but just old enough to enjoy the music and the occasional Swatch phone, the 90's which was after all FANTASTIC, and old enough in 2000 to know better than to get mixed up in crap like meth that seemed to run rampant.
6. Do you have any home remedies for illnesses, cleaning or otherwise?
When your kiddos are coughing their head off and Dimetap just isn't doing it....rub Vick's Vapor rub on their feet and put socks on them. It works like a charm!!

7. What is your ideal weather situation?
90's laying out in the sun in a swim suit guarded by my too tall fence! ha!
8. What is your best attribute (physical or personal)?
I am a fantastic cook....just ask anybody! haha!
9. Do you text or surf while driving?
No. I text at stoplights though.
10. How long have you known your best friend?
I have been BEST friends with Crystal for 22 years.....we had a falling out for about 4 years but I am so glad to have her back in my life. She knows me better than i know myself sometimes and it is funny to sit and laugh with her because she gets me even better than my own husband! She is the ONE person that I can truly be "me" around...all the time. I don't think that she will ever know how thankful I am to have her in my life for all these years and I love her dearly!

2 Months

A little late but nevertheless...

Time is getting away from me.  Just look how big my sweet baby is already.

She hates to sleep in her bed during the day...her swing is the nap location of choice.
She has been drinking 4oz bottles every 4 hours since she was born.
She loves to hang out in her boppy pillow and "chat" with me...her toothless grin makes my heart melt.
I'm trying like hell to get her to take a paci but it just isn't quite working out for me.
She has already been to Lubbock, Waco, and Little Elm in her 2 short months of life.
She travels well.
She refuses to get on a schedule and no matter how hard I try she just wont do it.
She loves her bath.
And she has strategically learned how to poop out the side of her diaper and sometimes in her hair. Now that takes skill!

I finally went to the doctor after feeling like crap since Friday morning and found out I have step throat. I have been quarantined to the bedroom.  Matt has really taken over the household and sadly he is doing it better than I ever have....damn. I miss cuddling my babies and spending time with Matt and them. Most of all, in these 2 days, I am missing being Mom to the kids and taking care of my sweet baby. But after tomorrow I am not contagious and cant wait to get my hands on my sweet baby.

Raegan at Ty's picnic

Ty's last day as a 1st grader

they are such best friends and I LOVE it!

Tuesday Ten on Wednesday!

Since I decided to do this Tuesday Ten just last week you have to forgive me that I forgot!! But since I love these random questions I'm playing along on Wednesday this week! So there!

1. Do you prefer markers, crayons, or colored pencils?I love a fresh box of crayons...their perfect points to their fantastic smell! It truly takes me back to childhood!
2. As a child, how did your parents celebrate your birthday? (Parties, cake, you pick the dinner, etc.)
One of my favorite things growing up was that my Mom made a big deal out of EVERY holiday! (still does) Our birthday was no exception. I became known as the girl who had the BEST and most memorable slumber parties! EVERY year we had a slumber party and it was sooo much fun especially since my birthday fell in the summer so it seemed there was so much more to do! Oh and lets not forget my 21st birthday where my mom gave me a Hello Kitty birthday at the house including the biggest bottle of Tequila Rose she (or my dad rather because my mom wouldn't be caught dead in a beer/liquor store) and we headed off to Ruidoso for the casino the next day! Because after all my mom now had a casino runnin' buddy and I no longer had to sit in the car while her and my dad went inside. No kidding.
3. How do you feel about leggings?
I just bought some...but cant find a shirt long enough to cover my fat ass!

I'm visual....a map is a must cause I can't remember crap anyone ever tells me!
5. What do you eat for snack?
String cheese, peanut butter crackers, or chips and dip. I'm a dip fanatic.

Never but I ALWAYS want to.
7. What’s your favorite thing about summer?
vacations

Yep...on my upper right butt cheek I have a sunflower and a sick figure flamingo on my upper left thigh that I let a cook from Carino's give me one night in a drunken stooper! ha!
9. Are you good at journaling?
Not at all.
10.  What’s your favorite way to eat a hamburger?
Mustard, Mayo, Cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles and diapered up in a paper towel....yum!

Summer is officially here...

Oh how I love summer! BUT....this summer is consisting of juggling 3 kids. Yep all 3 at home. Lets just say the constant screams of Raegan has begun because Ty is bored and all he can find to do is torment his sister. The constant question of "can we go to the pool?" has started. And our first official summer visit to Courtney's house has come and gone. I have to say folks...its summer.

We already have a completely full calendar for EVERY weekend in June.  We have such big plans but the pocket book is not as deep as it is going to require.

Did I just say pocketbook?
What am I 800?

Well If I was a "fit" mother I would have started it off with a full menu planned and a kitchen stocked full with grocery's...but we were gone for the Memorial day weekend so I'm just getting started on the planning part! ha!

I refuse to take all the kiddos to the grocery store (I learned my lesson last time with just 2) So my summers are going to be filled with late night trips to the grocery store! I'm not that brave.

So here goes....
summer.
